"In 2008, a farm boy from Indiana named Alex Rust quit his lucrative job at The Chicago Board of Trade and drove to Florida to chase a dream. He traded his old minivan for a small sailboat and taught himself to sail with a 'Sailing For Dummies' book. Alex soon set sail from Florida with a few friends headed toward the Bahamas… and never looked back. What followed was a four-year adventure that took Alex to the farthest corners of the globe where he discovered, among many other things, that the beauty of humanity transcends wealth, language, and location."

Released in 2016, the Chasing Bubbles documentary is a combination of footage from Alex's adventures (footage he shot on hundreds of different cameras and planned to use for some sort of production) and later interviews with friends, family, and former crew members.

Alex's raw honesty, exploits, and misadventures caught-on-camera, combined with his burning desire to make a meaningful impact on the world challenge the viewer to question their own path in life.
The Chasing Bubbles documentary has millions of views world-wide and has inspired much of this global audience to set sail on their own life adventures.
