Yes, there will be raft-ups. Trust us, there will be rum. Without question, there will be challenges mid-race that you couldn't possibly train for. But make no mistake — this is more than just a party. It’s a full-send sailing circus with a purpose.
We’re here to celebrate Captain Alex Rust’s legacy by doing what he did best:

HOW IT WORKS

Three Regattas. One Chain. There are three regattas in total in some of Alex's favorite destinations! Jump in for one, or chase Bubbles all the way north to the USVIs.

Three Legs Per Regatta
Every regatta runs over four days. The first day is a youth day that aims to inspire local kids in the islands we visit. We'll bring them out for a day on our boats and just like Alex always did, we'll expand the horizon and make the world just a little bit smaller. Our second day is a raft-up party brought together by YCA for you to get to know your challengers! Each day after is a new race and a new excuse to ask yourself, “How did I end up here?”. Each evening we have award ceremonies aboard Bubbles, Alex style.

Random Mid-Race Challenges
Just when you think you’re trimming sails and holding a clean line… BAM. A challenge hits.

Maybe your crew has to do a snorkel shot of tequila before you can tack.

Maybe you’ve got to launch a crewmember overboard as a “human drogue” to slow down.

Maybe your engine needs to be turned on... and put in reverse. You don’t know until it happens — and that’s the point.

The “Prize”

Sure, there’s bragging rights, award ceremonies, and trophies… but the real prize is knowing that your bad decisions just funded good ones for kids.

Every regatta raises money to get local kids out on the water, kids who’ve lived by the ocean their whole lives but never had the chance to sail it. Your questionable life choices? They’re funding the next generation’s first taste of freedom. So come for the party. Stay for the purpose. And leave knowing you were part of something bigger… and possibly part of someone’s new favorite dockside story.

Grenada
November 20th, 2025
The Chasing Bubbles Regatta kicks off in the heart of the Southern Caribbean, Grenada. Our journey starts at Spice Island Marine, whose support helps bring this dream to life. Bubbles is going to get splashed for the season and over to Woburn Bay for a YCA Floatchella that starts the fun.
From there, the fleet will head west, weaving through unforgettable anchorages. The last leg takes the whole group northbound up to beautiful Carriacou. The party won't end until we've had our fill of Sandy Cay, a stop so perfect it should come with a disclaimer. Adventure, connection, and celebration aren’t side notes here — they’re the main event.
Grenada isn’t just the starting line — it’s the spark. And once it’s lit, the regatta doesn’t just ripple across the Caribbean… it detonates.
British Virgin Islands
December 28th - January 1st
The British Virgin Islands are more than just another stop on the map, they're the heart of the Chasing Bubbles story. This is where Alex bought Bubbles. This is where he returned after sailing around the world. And now, for the third time, it's where the Chasing Bubbles Regatta brings his incredible journey full circle.
With steady trade winds, turquoise waters, and more legendary anchorages than you can count, the BVIs were practically built for a gathering like this. But this year, we're taking things to another level. The Chasing Bubbles Regatta is heading straight through New Year's Eve, bringing together sailors, adventurers, and dreamers from around the world to send off 2026 and welcome 2027 in true Bubbles fashion. Think island-hopping adventures, unforgettable raft-ups, new friendships, and one massive celebration of everything Alex stood for.
Because at the heart of it all, this regatta is about something much bigger than sailing or throwing an incredible New Year's party. It's about making a lasting impact on local kids, introducing them to the water, opening their eyes to new possibilities, and inspiring them to chase dreams they may never have imagined were possible. That's what Alex's legacy is really about. The sailing, the friendships, and the celebrations bring us together, but it's the opportunity to change a young life that makes it all worthwhile.
Back where it all began. Inspiring the next generation. And ringing in the New Year like only Bubbles could.
The Season FINALE
US Virgin Islands
The final chapter of this season’s Chasing Bubbles Regatta Series starts exactly how it should, rafted up in Christmas Cove with your YCA brothers and sisters.
This Floatchella will kick off the season finale in proper style before the celebration carries on shoreside with the award ceremony during the Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association Charter Yacht Show on May 16th. Even better? You can win yourself a free entry to the gala event with an open bar and buffet!
One last raft-up. One last run. One last chance to send this season off the only way we know how: In Alex Rust style!
